Pupils hospitalised for suspected food poisoning/health depar
Swab samples have been taken from the kitchen for laboratory testing. Stool samples are also being tested.
Thirty-three Umtata Technical High School pupils have been hospitalised with what is suspected to be food poisoning, the Eastern Cape Health Department said.

"This morning they went back andhealth department eastern cape refered 33 pupils to Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital [in Mthatha] for further treatment."
He said the Mthatha municipalitys Environmental Health Department had recommended that the kitchen at the schools hostel be closed for health reasons.
