POLICE and community representatives are joining together to educate parents and teenage children on the dangers of drugs and alcohol at tonights Knowledge Is Power forum.Tom Stylli of the Early Intervention pilot program said parents and their children would take a lot out of the meeting.Forums like this are useful in providing information and demystifying the chaos of drugs, he said.Not eastern acceDrug forum aims at wiser choices – Local News – News – General – Knox Weeklyevery young person becomes a hoodlum that terrorises the streets and gets addicted to drugs.Other organisations involved are: Ambulance Victoria, Legal Aid and Eastern Access Community Health Service.Victoria Police liaison officer Leading Senior Constable Lee Thomson said she hoped to see parents and children attend in good numbers. We want to better prepare young people with the knowledge to make wiser choices when engaging in risk-taking behaviour, she said.The forum will run from 7.30-9pm at the Glen Park Community Centre, Glen Park Road, Bayswater North. Entry is free.
